P.U.S.H
This morning when I woke up for my long run, I felt resistance immediately. Heavy. Loud. Convincing.
Every excuse lined up perfectly. You didn’t sleep enough. You didn’t plan a route. Your legs are sore. You can do it later. You have work. It can wait.
I hit snooze.
And then something deeper kicked in.
Months of consistent training, not just physically, but mentally. I recognized the moment. I’ve been here before. I knew that if I simply stood up and started the process, I would never regret it. So I got up.
The run itself was hard. Wind. Rain. The kind of conditions that make every step feel heavier than it should. More than once I wanted to turn around. To take the easy exit. I told myself, “I got out the door, that should be enough.” Or, “I’ll just cut it short.”
But this is the moment that matters most in ultramarathon training.
The mental battle is almost always harder than the physical one.
This is where you PUSH.
Persist Until Something Happens.
And what happened was simple. I zoomed out. I remembered the bigger picture. Big goals demand massive action. There was no shortcut. The only way forward was through.
What today reinforced is this:
Your mind is the muscle that decides everything.
When resistance shows up, meet it with massive action. Each time you do, you build resilience. That strength compounds. And over time, it carries you to places you never thought you could reach.
Happy Training Y’all! Keep pushing! 💪
